Your MyFax journey begins with selecting a fax number. FaxZero is another service with a free send-only option that lets you send up to five faxes (of up to three pages each, plus a cover page) per day. If you don't want to pay for your fax service, HelloFax and Fax.Plus both allow you to send a limited number of faxes for free, but the allotment of pages doesn't replenish automatically. That service's entry-level plan is $3.29 per month and includes a pool of 25 pages.
SRFax is the cheapest paid service we tested. MetroFax's $12.95-per-month plan that includes a pool of 1,000 pages offers the best price-per-page value. That service starts at $22.99 per month and offers an unmatched 1,500 pages. For a better value, look to Nextiva vFax or MetroFax, which charge $8.95 and $9.95 per month for 500 pooled pages, respectively. Heavy fax users may find that RingCentral Fax is a better option. Competitor eFax starts at $16.95 per month for 150 inbound and 150 outgoing faxes, though it charges a $10 setup fee. MyFax's pricing plan is squarely in the middle of the competition. HelloFax and Biscom 1-2-3 do not require credit card information for their free trials, which we appreciate.

You do, however, have to enter your credit card details to activate the trial period. If you're not sure about MyFax, the service offers a 14-day free trial. If, for example, you only send faxes and never receive them, having a pool means you can use all of your fax pages before you start incurring overage fees. We prefer fax services like HelloFax, which offer a single pool of pages, rather than individual limits on sent and received pages. If you happen to go over your page limit, each extra page costs 10 cents-about average for the services we've tested. If you need more faxes, the Power User plan grants you 400 incoming pages and 400 outgoing pages for $40 per month. That's right: There's only a bump to sent faxes at this tier. The next tier, Small Business User, costs $20 per month and lets you send 200 pages and receive 200 pages. You can save a little money by choosing the annual plan for this tier, which costs $100 per year, or roughly $8.33 per month.
MyFax's $10-per-month Home Office User plan allows 100 outgoing pages and 200 incoming pages.
